Which diseases can cause swelling and bulging of the lateral aspect of the infraorbital nose

The following is a brief summary of the diseases that cause this clinical symptom. Diseases that can cause swelling and bulging in the infraorbital area include: 1. Infection of the infraorbital space: mostly from apical septic infection of maxillary cuspid, first premolar and maxillary incisor, but also from septic infection of the base of the upper lip and nasal side, the swelling can spread to the inner canthus, eyelid and zygomatic skin with pain; 2. Malignant tumor of maxillary sinus: malignant tumor of maxillary sinus is mainly from squamous cell carcinoma of maxillary sinus, the tumor tissue invades anterior wall of maxillary sinus, projecting towards the suborbital soft tissue. 3.Maxillary cysts, various types of maxillary cysts located in the apical region of bicuspid, cuspid and first molar can cause maxillary bulge in the infraorbital region, and some of them can be palpated with ping-pong-like sensation. 4. Maxillary sinus cysts and maxillary sinusitis can cause edema-like changes in the anterior wall of the maxillary sinus and soft tissues in the infraorbital area, but the swelling is usually not particularly obvious. 5, Abnormal proliferation of bone fibers and ossifying fibroma from the zygomatic bone and maxilla can cause augmentation and deformation of the infraorbital area. 6. Osteogenic malignant tumors from the maxilla, such as osteogenic sarcoma, can cause swelling and elevation of the infraorbital region. 7. Tumor-like lesions in the infraorbital area such as hemangioma, lymphadenoma, and malformation tumor. 8. Trauma: hematoma, soft tissue edema and maxillary fracture in the infraorbital region. All the above lesions can be diagnosed with the help of X-ray film with good results.
