Anti-dsDNA antibodies, also known as anti-double-stranded DNA antibodies. This is an autoantibody that is usually seen in patients with SLE during the active phase of the disease. This antibody is very sensitive and specific for the diagnosis of lupus and is not usually seen in other connective tissue diseases. Therefore, it can predict the activity of SLE patients, and as the disease is controlled, the anti-double-stranded DNA antibody can become completely negative. Patients with SLE have a large number of autoantibodies in their bodies, including anti-nuclear antibodies and other antibodies, of which anti-double-stranded DNA antibodies are only one, and anti-U1RNP or anti-SS-A antibodies may also be present.
