What’s wrong with your neck when you tilt it back?

There are many reasons for neck pain when you tilt your neck back, the common ones are cervical dorsal fasciitis, cervical disc herniation, frozen shoulder and other diseases.
1. Cervical dorsal fasciitis: due to cold, exertion and other reasons, the fascia around the muscles of the neck and upper back is stimulated and causes aseptic inflammation, and the common symptoms are stiffness of the neck, limited movement, and pain when tilting the neck back.
2. Cervical disc herniation: As a result of prolonged bowing and stooping, the intervertebral disc or nucleus pulposus protrudes or prolapses from the back of the vertebral canal, causing the spinal cord and nerve roots to be compressed and the symptoms to appear. It manifests as neck and shoulder pain and radiating pain in the upper limbs, or different degrees of limb sensation and movement disorders. When the neck is tilted back, the pain symptoms can be more obvious.
3. Frozen shoulder: Repeated pulling of the muscles around the shoulder joint can also cause pain when the neck is tilted back.
There may be other reasons for neck pain when tilting back, such as trauma, etc. You should go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and carry out the corresponding treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
