What to do about cracked eyelids

Eyelid peeling and cracking is considered to be caused by dry skin or contact dermatitis, which can be relieved with medication or skin care products.
1. Dry skin: Commonly found in dry environments and older people, cracking is caused by loss of subcutaneous tissue or lack of oil around the eyes. Treatment requires daily application of moisturizing skin care products, as well as improved living conditions and collagen supplementation, which can usually provide relief.
2. Contact dermatitis: Commonly seen in people with newly changed skin care products, cracking of the upper eyelids may be caused by allergic reactions to medications or items such as hair dyes. Treatment should use antihistamines such as loratadine, can also be used topical glucocorticoid drugs such as hydrocortisone ointment treatment.
Cracked eyelids can also be caused by other reasons. If the above symptoms occur, it is recommended to consult a dermatologist to find out the cause of the problem and treat it accordingly.
