Survival of high-grade gliomas

How long people with high-grade gliomas live cannot be generalized and is related to a larger number of factors. Grade III gliomas usually last about 3 to 4 years, and grade IV gliomas usually last about 1 to 2 years.
Gliomas are categorized into grade IV, with grade III and grade IV being high-grade gliomas, and grade IV being the most malignant and having the shortest survival period. Patients with grade III gliomas have a better prognosis and a longer survival period than those with grade IV. After active treatment of grade III glioma, such as surgical resection and combination of radiotherapy and chemotherapy after surgery, the survival period can be around 3~4 years.
Grade IV gliomas have a very short survival period even after receiving surgical treatment, as well as postoperative combination therapy, and so on. Most patients are prone to tumor recurrence within a few months, which can be life-threatening, and the survival period is usually around 1~2 years.
Glioma is a malignant tumor, the higher the grade, the worse the prognosis. Surgical resection is preferred for high-grade glioma, and postoperative radiotherapy and other comprehensive treatments are adopted to maximize the life expectancy of the patients and improve the quality of life.
