Survival of diffuse astrocytic gliomas in grade II

Diffuse astrocytic glioma grade II can usually live for about 5 to 10 years through aggressive treatment. Diffuse astrocytic glioma is a kind of tumor with high malignancy degree, which is prevalent in middle-aged people, and patients can have the manifestations of increased intracranial pressure such as headache, dizziness, nausea and vomiting, and optic papillary edema, and also have focal manifestations, such as decreased visual acuity, or even unable to see at all, and so on. Once a patient is found diffuse astrocytic glioma needs to undergo surgical resection under the premise of meeting the surgical indications, but it is often difficult to completely resect it, and the nature of the tumor can be clarified through pathological biopsy after surgery. Due to the high degree of malignancy of the tumor, and it is not easy to resect cleanly, it needs to be assisted with radiotherapy treatment, which is meaningful for prolonging the patients’ life and improving the quality of life, and most of the patients can survive for about 5~10 years after treatment.
