Fastest way to raise platelets

There is no such thing as the “fastest” way to raise platelets. The common causes of platelet drop are acute leukemia, primary immune thrombocytopenia, infection, hypersplenism, etc. Platelet count can be raised by treating the primary disease, platelet transfusion, platelet-raising drugs, and surgical resection of the spleen if necessary.
1. Acute leukemia: it is a myeloid hematopoietic stem cell malignant disease, patients usually have thrombocytopenia, manifested by fever, bleeding gums, nosebleeds and other symptoms. When the platelets are lower than 20×10⁹/L in the routine blood test, and there is obvious bleeding tendency, platelets can be raised by platelet transfusion and other methods.
2. Primary immune thrombocytopenia: used to be called idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura. Usually, thrombocytopenia is caused by autoimmune disorder. Patients can preferred treatment such as adrenal glucocorticoid or gammaglobulin. Recombinant human thrombopoietin may also be used. If this is not effective, treatment with drugs such as rituximab or eltrombopag is indicated. If necessary, splenectomy can also be used.
3. Infection: mostly due to bacterial infection causing bleeding, thrombocytopenia may occur, patients can use ceftriaxone and other antibiotics to control the infection, and in severe cases, gammaglobulin can be used to raise platelets.
Thrombocytopenia may also have other reasons, patients who have thrombocytopenia, should promptly consult a doctor for examination, to clarify the specific causes of treatment, the specific use of drugs should also be carried out under the guidance of the doctor.
