Children love to bite clothes, it is possible that they are venting bad emotions. For example, when a child feels nervous, fearful, worried, scared, and aggrieved, angry, he or she may bite clothes to relieve tension and anxiety or vent frustration. The child’s love of biting clothes may also be a child suffering from a mental illness, such as autistic children may have a single, fixed, stereotypical behavior and interests; and children with mental retardation may also have strange, silly behavior, such as banging their heads against the wall, tearing clothes, etc.
