Widening of the cerebral sulcus and cerebral fissure is a manifestation that appears when examining a cranial CT or cranial MRI. Most of them usually indicate that the patient has brain atrophy, for example, when the cerebellum is atrophied, the patient may experience dizziness, balance disorder, and ataxia. When the brain is atrophied, it may cause memory loss and cognitive dysfunction. Patients with brain atrophy are mostly a phenomenon of brain cell degeneration caused by aging. Young people are also prone to brain atrophy if they suffer from prolonged mental stress and chronic sleep disorders, such as too short a sleep period and insufficient sleep quality. Patients who drink alcohol for a long time and in large quantities are prone to cerebellar atrophy, and if patients have chronic brain hypoxia, they are also prone to brain atrophy.
