What is the general knowledge of hypertension?

  Hypertension is a chronic disease. It causes chronic and continuous damage to the vital organs of the body – heart, brain and kidneys, and in serious cases, causes strokes, myocardial infarction and kidney failure. According to statistics, one person dies every 13 seconds and one person is disabled every 22 seconds due to cardiovascular disease in China.  What is blood pressure?   Blood pressure is the pressure that acts on the walls of blood vessels when blood flows through them, and it is what drives the flow of blood through them. There are arteries, capillaries and veins, so there is also arterial blood pressure, capillary pressure and venous blood pressure. The normal heart is a powerful muscular organ, like a water pump, which beats continuously and rhythmically day and night. The heart regularly contracts and relaxes to circulate blood through the blood vessels. When the heart is contracting, the pressure in the aorta is the highest, which is called systolic pressure, or “high pressure”; when the heart is diastolic, the pressure in the aorta is the lowest, so it is called diastolic pressure, or “low pressure”.  How can I know my blood pressure level?  Self-measurement of blood pressure: Electronic sphygmomanometer is preferred Self-measurement of blood pressure at home should be done early in the morning after waking up, before taking medication and within one hour before breakfast; at night, twice before going to bed. Measure it after 5 minutes of silence.     How to measure blood pressure at home?    1.Maintain concentration and rest for 5 minutes before measurement; 2.Tie the cuff to the bare upper arm; 3.Sit on a reclining chair with your arm on the table next to you; 4.Put a cushion under your arm to keep it at the same level as your heart; 5.Put your feet on the ground and do not cross your legs; 6.The home blood pressure value should be measured 2-3 times a day, two times each time, with an interval of 1 minute, taking the lowest value; for seven days. .
