What does it mean to have a microscopic nodule in the left lower lung?

Normally, left lower lung micronodule refers to the lung nodule with diameter less than 5mm, which is benign in most cases, but malignant possibility cannot be ruled out.
1. Benign lung nodules: in general, the smaller the diameter of the nodule, the higher the probability of benign nodules, benign nodules are mostly round or nearly round, with clear edges and no lobulation and other traits. Patients do not need to worry, regular examination and observation, pay attention to rest, avoid staying up late, do not smoke and avoid second-hand smoke and dusty environment, so as not to cause malignant nodules.
2. Malignant lung nodules: tiny nodules may develop precancerous lesions and then develop into lung cancer under adverse environmental factors. It is manifested by the tendency of enlargement of tiny nodules in the course of follow-up, and the irregular shape of ground glass in the imaging examination, usually with burrs and lobular features at the edge.
Patients are advised to choose appropriate treatment under the guidance of doctors.
