What to do if you have a congenital crooked nose

A congenitally crooked nose usually requires no special treatment if no other uncomfortable symptoms are present. For patients with cosmetic needs or discomfort symptoms such as breathlessness, surgical treatment is available. 1. If the patient has a congenital crooked nose due to developmental problems, but does not experience any discomfort, no special treatment is usually needed. 2. However, if the patient has cosmetic needs, or if the nose is crooked and causes respiratory obstruction and discomfort such as difficulty in breathing, the patient needs to take into account his or her own situation and adopt rhinoplasty or osteotomy to improve the crookedness of the nose. Alternatively, nasal septum correction may be used to improve the problem of poor nasal ventilation. 3. After surgery, patients need to keep the local nasal cavity clean and dry, avoiding dry air or dusty environment. Correct bad habits, avoid picking and digging the nose, and do not pick the nose with force. During the recovery period, patients need to follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review.
