Is cervical cancer infiltrating 1.2 centimeters serious?

Cervical cancer infiltration of 1.2cm belongs to IBI stage in clinical staging, which is the early stage of the disease and is not serious compared with middle and late stage. Early treatment has a better prognosis and lower mortality rate, but patients are still required to actively cooperate with doctors for treatment so as not to delay the condition. Cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that occurs in the cervix, which is the most common malignant tumor of female reproductive tract, and the persistent infection of high-risk HPV is the main pathogenic factor. Cervical cancer can be divided into stages I-IV, of which stage IB1 refers to the cancer foci confined to the cervix, with infiltration depth ≥5mm and maximum diameter <2cm. For patients with stage IB1, there are two treatment modalities: (1) fertility preservation: transabdominal, vaginal, or laparoscopic wide cervical resection + pelvic lymph node dissection; (2) non-fertility preservation: extensive or sub-extensive total hysterectomy + pelvic lymph node dissection. Postoperative radiotherapy is recommended if there is any one of the “high risk factors”. Cervical cancer belongs to malignant tumors of reproductive tract, so we should go to the hospital as soon as possible for a comprehensive examination and evaluation, treat it as soon as possible, and have a regular review after the operation in order to get a better prognosis.
