Thymofaxine is an immunomodulatory peptide consisting of twenty-eight amino acids that exerts immune-promoting effects by assisting in the maturation and function of T cells. It can be used in patients with chronic viral hepatitis B and various causes of immune deficiency. The usual dose of thymofacine is 1.6 mg, administered by subcutaneous injection, and is usually given twice a week. When used as adjunctive therapy for patients with chronic viral hepatitis B, it is generally administered continuously for 6 months.
