What is azithromycin capsule

Azithromycin capsule is an antibiotic which is mainly indicated for acute pharyngitis, acute tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes and acute attacks of sinusitis, otitis media, acute bronchitis, chronic bronchitis caused by sensitive bacteria, as well as pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus haemolyticus and Mycoplasma pneumoniae. It is also a treatment drug for atypical pathogens such as urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis, mycoplasma, etc. This class of drugs is usually taken just once a day, and one way to take it is to take 3 days and stop for 4 days, because the half-life of this drug is relatively long, and it is usually taken for a period of time and stopped for a period of time. Eating can affect the absorption of azithromycin, so take it 1 hour before a meal, or 2 hours after a meal to reduce the effect of food on azithromycin. This class of drugs has an adverse effect that patients with cardiovascular disease must be aware of, namely it can cause QT interval prolongation, such as ventricular fibrillation, tip-twisting ventricular tachycardia adverse reactions, and should not be taken for patients with hypomagnesemia and hypokalemia. The combination of azithromycin and glycyrrhizin tablets may cause arrhythmia, so it is not recommended to use them together. If combined use is necessary, it is recommended to observe the changes of ECG for reasonable use.
