Do laryngoscopy examination precautions need to be from the examination before, during, and after the examination of several aspects to be elaborated separately.
1. Before the examination:
(1) Laryngoscopy should be performed on an empty stomach as much as possible, if you have already had a meal, it is recommended that the stomach be emptied to a certain extent after two hours of eating, and the examination should be performed as appropriate in order to avoid vomiting and accidental aspiration during the process.
(2) Surface anesthesia is needed before laryngoscopy. Generally, hospitals use 1% or 2% bupivacaine for surface anesthesia. A small amount of spray can be used to exclude allergies before full anesthesia; at the same time, overdose of anesthetic should be avoided, resulting in poisoning of anesthetic.
2. During the examination: During the laryngoscopy process, the laryngoscope usually enters from the nasal cavity and gradually passes through the nasopharynx and then goes deep into the pharynx. Patients should try to avoid excessive tension, understand the examination process in advance, and make good psychological preparation. Avoid swallowing and talking freely during the examination, so as not to affect the examination results.
3. After the examination: After the examination, you need to fast for 1~2 hours, in order to avoid choking on food and drink and accidental inhalation because the surface anesthetic is not metabolized.
