Symptoms of chronic pharyngitis include pharyngeal discomfort, dry cough, pain in swallowing, hearing loss, and other symptoms. 1. Pharyngeal discomfort: dryness, irritation, itchiness, foreign body sensation and burning sensation may occur in the pharynx, which is caused by hypertrophied lymphoid follicles and pharyngeal secretion stimulation. 2. Dry cough: usually in the morning, irritating cough, accompanied by nausea. Coughing is often without secretion, i.e. dry cough, which is caused by the stimulation of mucous secretion in the back wall of the pharynx. Prolonged coughing can aggravate the inflammation. 3. Painful swallowing: patients with swelling of the lateral pharyngeal cord often have painful swallowing. 4. Hearing loss: chronic pharyngitis can spread upward to the eustachian tube, tinnitus or hearing loss symptoms. Downward involvement of the larynx can appear hoarse. 5. Other symptoms: sometimes the mucous membrane can be bleeding, coughing up or spitting out the secretion of blood staining, often make the patient alarmed, and so to consult the doctor. Patients with the above symptoms should consult the doctor in time and standardize the treatment under the guidance of the doctor.
