Telmisartan tablets are one of the first-line long-acting antihypertensive drugs in the ARB class, which can lower blood pressure and prevent left ventricular remodeling as a secondary prevention drug for coronary heart disease and heart failure. It can also reduce proteinuria caused by hypertension, and is a very good antihypertensive drug. However, it should be avoided for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and it is not recommended for patients with severe bilateral renal artery stenosis, high creatinine, or high potassium. Some patients may experience loss of appetite, diarrhea, dizziness, headache, nausea, and skin rash while taking this drug. Generally, it tends to resolve on its own after stopping the drug. it is recommended that 40mg can be taken daily, and the maximum dose should not exceed 80mg in 1 day. if blood pressure fails to reach the target with this drug alone, a more recommended advantageous combination is currently recommended with calcium antagonists, synergistically lowering blood pressure.
