A 2-mm ground-glass nodule in the lung is relatively small, but whether the situation is serious depends on whether the ground-glass nodule will continue to grow in size. If the nodule continues to get bigger, the probability of malignancy is higher and the situation is more serious, so tissue biopsy is needed; if it doesn’t get bigger, it can be left untreated and closely observed.
1. Mulled glass nodules continue to get bigger: Mulled glass nodules in the lungs are a relatively common condition. 2mm of milled glass nodules are not very big nodules, so they can be left untreated for the time being, and then reviewed again after an interval of three months. If the milled glass nodules increase significantly, the probability of malignancy is higher, and tissue biopsy is required to make it clear;
2. No obvious change of ground glass nodule: If there is no obvious change of ground glass nodule after a period of review, the situation is not serious and no treatment is needed, regular review and observation can be done.
Patients should follow the doctor’s instructions for regular review, in order to find changes in the nodules can be dealt with in a timely manner.
