Tonsillar hypertrophy in 6~7 years old children needs to be combined with the specific degree of hypertrophy and clinical symptoms to formulate an individualized treatment plan. If 1-2 degrees of hypertrophy, no clinical symptoms, can be observed, without special treatment; if the tonsils 3 degrees of hypertrophy, sleep snoring, open-mouth breathing, recurrent inflammation and other symptoms, then need to take surgical treatment.
Under normal physiological conditions, 6~7 years old is the time when children’s tonsils are developing vigorously, if there is no clinical symptom of 1-2 degrees of tonsil hypertrophy at this time, generally there is no need for treatment, and after puberty, the physiological hypertrophy of tonsils will gradually shrink.
If the tonsils of 6~7-year-old children are over-enlarged, up to 3 degrees, has caused corresponding symptoms, such as tinnitus, nasal congestion, snoring, open-mouth breathing, etc., or due to the stimulation of chronic tonsillitis, tonsillitis recurrence, then we need to consider surgical treatment, usually take tonsillectomy.
It is recommended that children aged 6-7 years with enlarged tonsils should strengthen their daily life management, have regular follow-ups, and go to the hospital in case of discomfort.
