Esophageal blockage refers to the presence of foreign bodies or abnormal growths in the lumen of the esophagus, causing food to be blocked from passing through this location, and this condition needs to be looked at differently. If there is coarse and hard food that has been ingested and is embedded inside the esophagus, an electronic gastroscopy can be done to remove the embedded food so that it will be cleared. If there is an abnormal growth in the esophagus, such as esophageal cancer, surgery is needed as soon as possible or a stent can be placed to dilate the blocked esophagus. Before the surgery, the patient will suffer from malnutrition because of poor feeding, so it is necessary to put jejunal nutrition tube or supplement the body’s needs through intravenous nutrition to prevent the patient from dehydration, low potassium and low sodium due to the lack of nutrient supply.
