How do you check for gallbladder problems?

Checking the gallbladder mainly requires ultrasound and other imaging tests and blood routine, inflammation indicators, biochemical indicators and so on.
1. Imaging examination: ultrasound is the most commonly used imaging examination for checking the gallbladder, which can be used for the initial screening of gallstones, biliary tumors, cholecystitis and other diseases, while MRI and abdominal CT can be used for further auxiliary diagnosis and evaluation of stones and tumors. Percutaneous liver puncture cholangiography, endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography and other invasive tests can be used for diagnosis and treatment of gallbladder diseases.
2. Blood routine, inflammatory indexes: if there are infectious diseases such as cholecystitis, cholangitis, etc., there may be elevated leukocytes, inflammatory indexes such as C-reactive protein.
3. Biochemical indexes: serum biliary enzymes such as alkaline phosphatase, γ-glutamyl transferase, bilirubin and other indexes will be elevated in the case of biliary obstruction caused by gallstones, tumors and so on.
It is recommended to consult a specialist and follow the doctor’s instructions for examination and treatment when gallbladder disease is suspected.
