Regardless of the ingredients contained in smoke pouch oil, it is not recommended to use smoke pouch oil to treat shingles. The pathogenesis of shingles has been so well studied medically that it no longer needs to be treated by cutting with a knife, applying with ink, etc. Again, the use of tobacco pouch oil is not recommended. If shingles occurs, formal treatment can be used, usually with oral or intravenous antiviral drugs. Antiviral and astringent antibacterial medications can also be used and applied to the blisters, erythema, and other areas of the disease, but treatment with smoker’s oil is not recommended.
