Treatment of knee osteoarthritis

Knee osteoarthritis generally refers to osteoarthritis of the knee joint, and its treatment mainly includes general treatment, drug treatment, physical therapy and surgery. 1. General treatment: Rest should be taken care of in daily life, and the recovery of the disease can be helped by reducing the load on the joints, choosing suitable mobility aids and shoes. It is also important to keep the knee joint warm and avoid trauma to the knee joint. 2. Drug treatment: Oral ibuprofen, celecoxib and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can be used for pain relief, and oral glucosamine sulfate and other cartilage-nourishing drugs can also be used for treatment. 3. Physiotherapy: Hot compresses, baking electricity, ultrasound and other physiotherapy can be carried out to promote blood circulation in the knee joint and reduce the local swelling and pain symptoms. 4. Surgery: If the effect of the above conservative treatment is not obvious, or if the deformity of the knee joint occurs, arthroscopic cleaning, osteotomy or arthroplasty can be considered as necessary for treatment. Suffering from knee arthritis should go to the hospital in time, complete the relevant examination, clarify the severity of the disease, and follow the doctor’s instructions for standardized treatment, do not self-medication, in order to avoid delaying the condition.
