Is it normal to have a bone age of 10 at the age of 8 years and 5 months?

At 8 years and 5 months of age, a bone age of 10 is not normal and needs to be brought to the attention of parents. Bone age, i.e. the age of the bones, is more reflective of the maturity of the human skeleton than the actual age, so it is more accurate to determine the maturity of the human body by bone age than the actual age. The difference between bone age and age is between -1 and +1 years; 8 years and 5 months of age, bone age 10, bone age and age difference >1 year, means that the child may have precocious puberty. Bone age and age difference is too large for the following reasons, precocious puberty, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, hyperthyroidism, adrenal function abnormalities, etc., can lead to bone age development in advance; obesity, physical high stature of the children are mostly accompanied by bone age development mildly early. It is recommended that appropriate treatment be carried out under the guidance of professional pediatricians or endocrinologists.
