Can parasites enter the brain?

A parasite that may enter the brain is cerebral parasitosis. As the parasite’s body, eggs or larvae invade the tissues of the brain, they later cause the corresponding symptoms and can lead to a series of immunopathological reactions in patients. Clinically, patients may present with acute meningoencephalitis or seizures, increased intracranial pressure, cerebral edema, etc. The symptoms that occur after the parasite infection of the patient’s brain depend mainly on the location, extent and number of parasites and the degree of impairment of cerebrospinal fluid circulation. In the treatment must be diagnosed early to control the patient’s condition, the patient can be treated by using anti-parasitic drugs, depending on the parasite species. Clinically, in case of cysticercosis in pigs, patients should be given deworming treatment.
