Are lymph nodes 12x5mm normal?

Lymph nodes can be categorized into superficial lymph nodes and deep lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are located in different parts of the body and are of different sizes, with those in the groin area being slightly larger. The normal value of lymph node size is 3-5mm, and a diameter of more than 10mm is considered an enlarged lymph node. This patient’s lymph node size of 12x5mm is considered enlarged and the cause of the enlarged lymph node needs to be further identified. The main causes are: lymphadenitis, lymphoma as well as malignant tumors, and lymph node metastasis. Fine needle aspiration, cytologic examination, or lymph node excision pathology can be used to further clarify.
