Neuroendoscopic transsphenoidal surgery to remove pituitary tumor

Pituitary adenoma is a common tumor in neurosurgery. Although the use of microsurgery for pituitary adenomas is well established, the application of neuroendoscopic techniques in transnasal butterfly surgery has further improved the quality of surgical treatment for pituitary adenomas. Since no retractor is used, the surgical damage to the surrounding facial tissues is significantly improved, and the endoscopic view of the lesion from multiple angles and at close range greatly improves the total resection of the tumor. Endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery alone can significantly reduce surgical trauma, minimize postoperative patient discomfort, and significantly shorten hospitalization time.
