Red dates have a certain effect of tonifying qi and nourishing blood.
Red dates are known as jujube in Chinese medicine. It is sweet and warm in nature. It belongs to the stomach, heart and spleen meridians. Its effects include tonifying the center and benefiting the qi (treating qi deficiency by tonifying the spleen), nourishing the blood and tranquilizing the mind, so jujube tonifies the qi and nourishes the blood at the same time. Jujube is mainly used for spleen deficiency with little food, weakness and loose stools (thin and unformed feces), women’s dirty agitation (upset and depression, sadness and wanting to cry for no reason), insomnia, and so on.
In the treatment of spleen qi deficiency and blood deficiency insomnia, the use of jujube can also be combined with Chinese herbs such as angelica, astragalus, and codonopsis to enhance the effect of tonifying qi and blood.
The adverse reactions and contraindications to the use of jujube as a medicine are not yet clear, and should be rationally applied in accordance with medical advice.
