Diet mainly includes all kinds of food, such as cereals and potatoes, vegetables and fruits, livestock and poultry, fish, eggs and milk, soybeans and nuts, as well as cooking oil and salt, through which people obtain the various nutrients and energy needed by the organism to maintain their health. Diet-related concepts that are meaningful to human health are reasonable diets, i.e., three meals a day that provide nutrients to meet the needs of human growth, development and various physiological and physical activities. According to the latest Dietary Guidelines for Chinese Residents, it is recommended that adults consume 200-300g of cereals per person per day, because cereals and potatoes are the main source of dietary energy, as well as a good source of a variety of micronutrients and dietary fiber. Recommended daily intake of vegetables for adults at least 300g, fruits 200~350g. fish, poultry, meat, eggs and other animal foods should be consumed in moderation, the recommended daily intake of a total of 120~200g. Milk and legumes are good sources of protein and calcium, high nutrient density, encouraging more intake, recommended daily intake of milk and milk products equivalent to at least 300g of fresh milk. Oil and salt are essential as cooking seasonings but are recommended to be used sparingly, with a recommended average daily cooking oil intake of no more than 25~30g and salt intake of no more than 5g for adults. Other recommendations for a sensible diet include overeating, drinking enough water every day, and eating fresh and wholesome food.
