The formula of Dampness-eliminating and Toxin-dispersing Granules contains Gypsum, Fried Bitter Almonds, Semen Armeniacae, Houpu, Patchouli, Ephedra, Fried Grass Nuts, Poria, Astragalus, Paeonia lactiflora, Rhubarb, Licorice, and Bran-fried Cangzhu, and other medicinal herbs.
It has the efficacy of promoting the lungs to expel heat, resolving dampness and detoxifying toxins, and is mainly used for treating diseases caused by dampness and toxins encroaching on the lungs. Such illnesses include body heat, weakness, cough, nausea, muscle pain, loss of appetite, dry throat, sore throat, and mucus in the mouth.
Adverse reactions such as loss of appetite and stomach upset are occasionally seen with this product.
Dampness-absorbing granules are contraindicated in patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, pregnant women, infants and young children, lactating women, patients with allergy to this drug. It should also be used with caution for people with deficiency of spleen and stomach (spleen and stomach weakness and cold).
