Occasional blood in sputum usually has little effect if it is caused by pneumonia; it may have some effect if it is caused by pulmonary fibrosis or early lung cancer.
1. Pneumonia: mainly due to the inflammatory reaction of the lungs caused by infection with bacteria or other microorganisms, the condition is generally not serious and can be effectively controlled and prevented from continuous progress after regular treatment.
2. Pulmonary fibrosis: mainly caused by interstitial lung disease to the end stage of lung tissue changes, resulting in bloody sputum. This disease is more serious and complicated, and it is easy to develop in middle and old age, which has a relatively large impact on patients’ quality of life.
3. Early stage lung cancer: Occasional blood in sputum may occur in the early stage of lung cancer, which is a relatively serious disease. If not treated in time, the tumor will gradually increase and the cancer cells will metastasize and spread, thus causing mid-stage or advanced lung cancer, which poses a greater threat to the life of patients.
Occasional blood in sputum may also be caused by tuberculosis, interstitial pneumonia, bronchial dilatation and other diseases, and it is necessary to consult a doctor in time to clarify the cause and then target treatment.
