Novel Coronavirus Infection Fever at Night

The main symptoms of patients with novel coronavirus are fever and cough and malaise. There is no obvious pattern to the fever, and fever is usually more common in the afternoon and evening, but there is not much of a pattern to the overall fever. The fever is usually low or moderate, so one cannot judge the severity of the illness based on the peak of the fever, nor can one judge the probability of it being novel coronavirus pneumonia based on the height, nor can one judge whether or not one is infected with novel coronavirus pneumonia or the severity of the novel coronavirus pneumonia based on whether or not one has a daytime fever or a nighttime fever. Rather, the assessment was done based on an epidemiologic history with fever, dry cough, malaise, and shortness of breath. The final diagnosis needs to be made based on the results of blood work and chest CT to make a definitive diagnosis. Content source: Dr. Yurai
