Hemochromatosis is a disorder of metabolism due to excessive absorption of iron and its deposition in the tissues. Symptoms are delayed and are usually revealed with age, and are related to iron accumulation, which reaches 15-50 grams before symptoms develop. Typical symptoms include skin pigmentation, cirrhosis, and diabetes mellitus. Hyperpigmentation is characterized by bronze or slate blue pigmentation, which is usually more pronounced in the folds and exposed areas, and is gradual and often not easily detected at first. Liver involvement mainly manifests as cirrhosis, hepatomegaly, and tenderness, and hepatic ascites in the advanced stage. In normal times, we should pay attention to the maintenance of the body, especially to drink less and touch less alcohol, consume less food with high iron content and less food with high fat content, exercise actively, maintain good sleep and mental state, and at the same time, we should check the blood lipid and blood sugar regularly.
