Job’s tears, also known as Coix lacryma, Coix lacryma, Gorgon fruit, Poria cocos taken together have the effect of seeping dampness and inducing diuresis, etc., and should be used in accordance with medical advice.
Job’s tear grains have the effect of removing paralysis, diuresis and seepage of dampness (promoting the operation of water to dispel dampness), draining pus, stopping diarrhea and strengthening the spleen, and detoxifying and dispersing knots. It is used in the treatment of dysuria (irregular urination), edema, athlete’s foot, diarrhea due to spleen deficiency, and lung carbuncle. Gorgon fruit has the efficacy of solidifying essence and kidney, removing dampness and stopping leucorrhea, tonifying the spleen and stopping diarrhea. It is used for the treatment of seminal emission, spermatorrhea, frequent urination, dysuria, leucorrhea (cloudy urine like white pulp), hypoglossia, and prolonged diarrhea due to spleen deficiency. It is contraindicated for those who have adverse urination and defecation, and should be taken with caution for those who have food stagnation. Adverse reactions are not clear.
Poria has the efficacy of seeping dampness and inducing diuresis, tranquilizing the heart and strengthening the spleen. It is used in the treatment of dizziness, palpitation, edema and urination, phlegm (pathological product formed by water metabolism disorder), loose stools (feces thin and not shaped) and diarrhea, deficiency of the spleen with little food, palpitation and insomnia, restlessness of the heart and mind. It is contraindicated in cases of yin deficiency without dampness-heat, deficiency of cold and essence-slip, and kidney deficiency and subsidence. Adverse reactions are not clear.
Coix Seed, Gorgon fruit, Poria are used together to strengthen the spleen to stop diarrhea, seepage of dampness and diuresis, used in the treatment of deficiency of the spleen and diarrhea, edema and other conditions. If medication is needed, it should be used under the guidance of a doctor.
