What to do about diffuse thyroid lesions

Diffuse thyroid lesion is a kind of imaging description, which can be seen in Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Graves’ disease, nodular goiter and other diseases, and requires targeted treatment under the guidance of the doctor, such as medication, surgery and so on.
1. Hashimoto’s thyroiditis: when combined with clinical hypothyroidism, you need to take levothyroxine sodium tablets for treatment, and you need to maintain an appropriate amount of iodine intake in your daily life.
2. Graves’ disease: usually accompanied by hyperthyroidism, need to take propylthiouracil and other antithyroid drugs; can also be radioactive iodine treatment, applicable to adult patients with goiter of more than two degrees, antithyroid drug allergy and other people; if the goiter produces pressure symptoms or drug treatment is ineffective, need to be surgical treatment.
3. Nodular goiter: when combined with hypothyroidism, oral levothyroxine sodium tablets can be used for treatment; when combined with hyperthyroidism, antithyroid drugs can be used for treatment, such as propylthiouracil or iodine radiation therapy; surgical resection can be considered when the goiter produces compression symptoms.
