There are currently three types of cervical cancer vaccines, including bivalent, quadrivalent and nine-valent, which are applicable to different age groups. Bivalent is applicable to women aged 9 to 45, 4-valent is applicable to women aged 9 to 45, and 9-valent is applicable to women aged 16 to 26.
1. Bivalent Cervical Cancer Vaccine: Prevents high-risk types 16 and 18 human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. It is applicable to women aged 9 to 45, and the vaccination interval is 0, 1 and 6 months.
2. Quadrivalent Cervical Cancer Vaccine: to prevent high-risk type 16, 18 HPV infection and low-risk type 6, 11 HPV infection, applicable for use in women aged 9 to 45 years, the vaccination interval is 0, 2, 6 months. If a woman is older than 45 years old, there is usually no need to get this vaccine again, but she needs to go to the hospital regularly for cervical disease screening every year.
3. Nine-valent cervical cancer vaccine: to prevent HPV types 6, 11, 16, 18, 31, 33, 45, 52 and 58, for women aged 16 to 26 years, the vaccination interval is 0, 2, 6 months.
Cervical vaccination does not provide 100% protection against cervical cancer, so regular cervical cancer screenings are still required.
