Can Si Jun Zi Tang be consumed as a tea?

It is generally not recommended to consume Si Jun Zi Tang as a contemporary tea.
Si Jun Zi Tang is a traditional Chinese medicine formula for treating qi deficiency of the spleen and stomach. It consists of ginseng which strengthens the spleen and nourishes the stomach, Rhizoma Atractylodis Macrocephalae which strengthens the spleen and dries dampness, Poria which strengthens the spleen and seeps away dampness, and Radix Glycyrrhiza Glutinosa which regulates all the medicines, which regulates the properties of different medicines. The four medicines are used together to benefit the qi and strengthen the spleen and are commonly used in clinics for the treatment of chronic gastritis, stomach and duodenal ulcers, which are caused by deficiency of qi in the spleen and stomach.
Sijunzi Tang is the basic formula for treating qi deficiency of the spleen and stomach. Since the efficacy of Chinese herbal medicines consumed in place of tea is limited, and may not be as effective as the original Chinese herbal medicines in terms of efficacy and specific effects, Sijunzi Tang is usually not recommended to be consumed as a substitute for tea.
