The reasons for the decline of sexual function in patients with lumbar disc herniation are the following two: First, after the lumbar disc herniation causes muscle spasm and muscle strength weakening, both generally accompany each other, both because of poor posture, strain, cold and other causes of lumbar muscle strength weakening, patients will have pain symptoms. It can make lumbar disc herniation and lumbar muscle strain aggravate each other. It will also affect the mobility, thus causing a decrease in sexual function; second, the herniated nucleus pulposus of the lumbar disc herniates to compress the nerve roots and spinal cord, especially compressing the sacral nerve that affects the dominant sexual function or the nucleus pulposus prolapses and falls into the spinal canal causing extrusion, all of which will directly stimulate the nerve degeneration and be affected, thus causing a decrease in sexual function. It can also affect sexual function by causing radiating pain in the waist and legs due to a herniated lumbar disc, which affects mobility.
