It is well known that functional exercise is needed after the acute phase of frozen shoulder, but when it comes to the specific exercise methods, many people are not able to explain them in detail. Combined with my own work experience, I have summarized a set of exercise methods to share with you, and I hope it will be helpful to you. First of all, it must be stressed that the acute phase requires braking and prohibits functional exercise. After the acute period, the following exercises can be performed in sequence for gradual rehabilitation. Stage 1: The patient’s shoulder joint range of motion is small, and the upper limb flat and lateral planks are limited. The following training can be performed: standing position, upper body forward flexion to horizontal position, the healthy side hand holding the table, stabilizing the body, the affected limb hanging down, horizontal rowing circle, the circle is getting bigger and bigger. Due to personal physical fitness, each group about 3-5 minutes or so. One group per hour. Phase 2: After a period of exercise, the shoulder joint regains some of its mobility, but it is still difficult to lift horizontally. Face the wall, stand upright, and use the affected limb as a fulcrum to crawl upward on the wall with effort, repeatedly. Similarly, turn sideways to the wall. Note that when exercising, the upper body must stand upright and not bend back and forth or left and right. Stage 3: The upper limb can be lifted upward, but the shoulder joint activity is still inflexible and the range is still not up to normal. 1. Hold both hands together behind the head and pull the affected limb repeatedly with the healthy side hand to the healthy side. If there is difficulty, you can use a towel to assist the exercise first. 2.Hold both hands behind the waist and pull the affected limb repeatedly with the healthy hand to the healthy side. If there are difficulties, you can first use a towel to assist the exercise. 3.Hold both hands behind the back and pull the affected limb repeatedly with the healthy hand to the healthy side. If there are difficulties, you can first use a towel to assist the practice. 4. Turn your back to the table or windowsill and squat slowly until your shoulders are tense. (Elderly and frail people need to be accompanied) Stage 4: Shoulder joint activity is basically normal, still need to insist on exercise, you can do shoulder joint circumferential exercise, in the order of “front → up → back → down → front”, with slow and gentle movements. Stage 5: Whole body exercise, square dance, tai chi wheel, just choose one, there is no end to exercise.
