How old can you eat honey

In general, honey is not recommended for babies under one year of age, and you can consider adding honey products above one year of age, but you should not consume large amounts.

Honey contains more nutrients, mainly sugar-based. Babies under one year old have relatively weak digestive function and imperfect intestinal flora, consuming honey will possibly cause indigestion and may cause digestive symptoms such as nausea and vomiting.

Secondly, as honey exists in the natural environment before harvesting, it is likely to be contaminated by bacteria such as Clostridium botulinum during transportation and storage, which may easily cause food poisoning.

Try to consider feeding honey after your baby is one year old, but it should not be consumed in large quantities to avoid adverse reactions.
