The slit lamp microscope is a commonly used examination device in ophthalmology. The slit lamp microscope has a magnifying effect and can view lesions that are not easily detected with the naked eye. In clinical practice, the slit lamp can be used to examine the following tissues: the appearance of the eyelids, conjunctiva, cornea, anterior chamber, atrial fluid, pupil, lens, and the first 1/3 of the vitreous in order from front to back. the presence of foreign bodies in the cornea, the presence of cataracts, and the presence of vitreous opacities can all be examined with the slit lamp microscope. In addition, with the help of other examination equipment, such as atrial angle microscopy and triangulation, the slit lamp can also be used to examine the atrial angle and fundus.
