What is the action and efficacy of Parsley and Gui Zhi Tang (附子桂枝汤)

Gui Zi Gui Zhi Tang refers to the formula Gui Zhi plus Gui Zi Tang, which is used to treat sun disease (wind-cold evil qi attacking the body’s muscular surface, with manifestations of fear of cold and fever, pain in the head and body, and floating pulse), with malignant cold (fear of cold) sweating, and then leakage of more than one, and the person’s malignant wind, difficulty in urinating, and slight urgency of limbs, making it difficult to flex and extend. The effect is to harmonize Ying and Wei (making the internal and external qi of the body smooth, each in its own way), and to support Yang and consolidate the surface. Gui Zhi Tang (桂枝加附子汤) is composed of gui zhi (桂枝), peony (芍药), ginger (生姜), jujube (大枣), licorice (甘草), and epiphyllum (附子), and is used to treat typhoid fever (a fever caused by cold), which is associated with a deficiency of yang (阳虛), and is characterized by symptoms such as fever due to bad winds, urgency of the limbs, perspiration, and a floating, weak pulse. Gui Zhi Tang is used to relieve symptoms and harmonize Ying and Wei, and Radix et Rhizoma Polygoni Multiflori is used to support yang, so that yang qi can be restored and external evils can be relieved. Gui Zhi Tang can be used in cases of profuse sweating and Yang depletion, but if profuse sweating, coldness and malignant chills are seen, it is a sign of Yang detachment and should not be used. The use of medication should be under the guidance of a physician, and self-medication is not recommended.
