Hip snapping may be related to snapping hip, physiologic snapping, acetabular labral tear, and intra-acetabular free body.
1. Snapping hip: Snapping hip originates from the tension of broad fascia tensor muscle, which will trigger the friction with the greater trochanter of the femur when the muscle is tensed and pathological snapping occurs.
2. Physiologic snapping: mostly seen in middle-aged and old people, with age, there may be joint laxity and decreased nutritional status, and snapping occurs when the joint moves.
3. Tear of acetabular labrum: the acetabular labrum is an important structure to maintain the stability of the hip joint, when it is torn by trauma, it may lead to instability of the hip joint, or even dislocation and popping sound.
4. Hip free body: when the hip free body enters into the joint capsule, it will also trigger hip snapping, which will be triggered when the femoral head touches the foreign object when moving.
If hip popping is accompanied by local pain or unfavorable hip activities, you need to consult the hospital in time and have a targeted examination and treatment according to the cause of the disease.
