Roxithromycin side effects in men

Roxithromycin has not been reported on male reproductive function damage. Side effects on other aspects are: ① gastrointestinal reactions, manifested as vomiting, abdominal distension, abdominal pain, diarrhea, etc.; ② hepatotoxicity, manifested as hepatomegaly, obstructive jaundice, elevated AST and ALT, etc.; ③ cardiotoxicity, manifested as cardiac arrhythmia, prolongation of the Q-T interval, etc.; ④ ototoxicity; ⑤ allergy; ⑥ myasthenia gravis and so on. Roxithromycin is suitable for pharyngitis and tonsillitis caused by Streptococcus pyogenes, sinusitis, otitis media, acute bronchitis, acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis caused by sensitive bacteria, pneumonia caused by Mycoplasma pneumoniae or Chlamydia pneumoniae; urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis; and skin and soft tissue infections caused by sensitive bacteria. The main adverse reactions are gastrointestinal reactions such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting, but the incidence is significantly lower than that of erythromycin. Occasionally, rash, pruritus, dizziness, headache, abnormal liver function (alt and ast elevation), peripheral blood cell decline. Note hypersensitivity to this product and macrolide antimicrobials is prohibited. Patients should use the drug under the guidance of a specialized physician and strictly comply with medical advice.
