What are the symptoms of arteriosclerosis of the extremities

Arteriosclerosis of the extremities is usually asymptomatic if there is no narrowing or occlusion of the blood vessels. If atherosclerosis develops to a certain extent and causes narrowing of the lumen of the blood vessels, corresponding changes will occur. In the upper extremities, there will be mainly weakness, temperature drop, numbness in the upper arms and forearms, low skin temperature and pale skin color. In the lower extremities, the patient may experience intermittent claudication, cold extremities, decreased skin temperature, localized pain and numbness, often accompanied by pale or cyanotic skin color.
