Yellowish eyes may be physiological or pathological, not necessarily a precursor of liver cancer. Primary liver cancer is one of the common digestive system tumors and one of the malignant tumors with the highest mortality rate in China. Early stage of liver cancer usually does not show obvious and specific symptoms, and when obvious symptoms appear, most of them have already developed to middle or late stage. Some patients may have jaundice, which may be manifested as yellow staining of skin and sclera, and some patients may have itchy skin. However, jaundice can also appear in other diseases, and it is necessary to see whether it is combined with other diseases: 1. Jaundice with fever is seen in acute cholangitis, liver abscess, leptospirosis, sepsis, and lobar pneumonia. Viral hepatitis or acute hemolysis may be preceded by fever and followed by jaundice. 2. Jaundice with severe epigastric pain can be seen in biliary stones, liver abscess or biliary ascariasis; severe pain in the right upper abdomen, chills, high fever and jaundice for charcot triad, suggesting acute septic cholangitis. Persistent dull pain or distending pain in the right upper abdomen can be seen in viral hepatitis, liver abscess or primary hepatocellular carcinoma. 3. Jaundice with hepatomegaly, if mildly to moderately enlarged, soft or moderately hard and smooth surface, seen in viral hepatitis acute biliary infection or biliary tract obstruction. Obviously enlarged, hard and bumpy surface with nodules is seen in primary or secondary hepatocellular carcinoma. Liver enlargement is not obvious and the texture is hard with uneven edges and small nodules on the surface is seen in cirrhosis. If there is any discomfort or sign of abnormality, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time for diagnosis and treatment.
