There are several reasons for menstrual headache: the first aspect may be mental factors, for example, some women may experience habitual mental tension or anxiety or even depression in the days before menstruation, which can cause temporary dysfunction of the human neuroendocrine system, resulting in increased secretion of neurotransmitters in the brain, causing headaches and discomfort during menstruation. The second aspect is that women may have endocrine problems, because the content of hormones in women’s bodies is much more than that of men, especially during menstruation when there are substantial changes in hormone levels and large fluctuations in the types of hormones, which can have adverse or negative effects on women’s spirits, thus causing serious consequences such as sleep disorders, headaches, and even anxiety in women. The third aspect may be due to a lesion inside the brain which can be aggravated at the time of menstruation and the headache symptoms will disappear when the period passes.
