Persistent diarrhea may be caused by functional enteritis, inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal malignant tumors and so on.
1. Functional enteritis: it may be caused by improper diet leading to enteritis, which can cause diarrhea symptoms. Some patients have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is usually associated with excessive work or study pressure, fast pace of life, irregular diet and work and rest, etc. There is no clear cause of infection, which is a kind of functional gastrointestinal disease.
2. Inflammatory bowel disease: such as ulcerative colitis, radiation colitis, Crohn’s disease, etc. These diseases can lead to diarrhea.
3. Intestinal malignant tumors: malignant tumors of the intestinal tract, such as colorectal cancer, can lead to changes in the patient’s bowel habits, if the patient persists in diarrhea and accompanied by weight loss, positive fecal occult blood, depression and other symptoms need to be vigilant about the possibility of intestinal space-occupying lesions.
There are other reasons for persistent diarrhea, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time, improve the examination to clarify the cause of the disease, and then give targeted treatment or therapy.
