Gray nails, also known as onychomycosis, do not have the most effective treatment, and are usually treated with medication, surgery, or laser depending on the patient’s condition.
Nail fungus is mainly caused by the infection of dermatophytes, which manifests itself in symptoms such as change of nail color, loose texture and increased thickness.
1. Drug treatment: patients can use 30% glacial acetic acid to externally apply on diseased nails, and then locally apply antifungal drugs, such as amorolfine application, cyclopiazide application, etc. to inhibit and kill fungi; if there are multiple diseased nails, oral antifungal drugs can also be taken to treat the disease, such as terbinafine, itraconazole and so on.
2. Surgery: If drug treatment is ineffective, or if the condition of the nail is complicated, or if the nail is single, the nail can be removed through surgery, and then medication can be given.
3. Laser: It can be combined with fractional, Nd-YAG laser laser treatment, which has the function of assisting the penetration of drugs and helping to kill the fungus.
It is recommended that patients go to a regular hospital, under the guidance of the doctor’s reasonable treatment, medication, should strictly comply with the doctor’s prescription medication, not blindly self-medication, to avoid adverse reactions, delay the condition.
